About Chris Newton
I worked as a journalist on regional newspapers and overseas radio before joining a major national PR consultancy as an account executive, later becoming a director.  Since establishing Chris Newton Communications 20 years ago, I have provided freelance PR consultancy and copywriting services to a very wide range of businesses and organisations in the south and west of England and further afield.
·
Background in news journalism, including regional daily newspapers and radio.

·       Agency career with Harrison Cowley Public Relations, becoming account director, then main board director.

·        Wide experience in the public sector, including PR services to several NHS Trusts, health authorities and city/county councils.

·        Consultancy experience includes strategic planning, business-to-business and consumer media relations, corporate PR, media interview and communication training and employee relations.

"Chris has worked for the National Trust in Wessex for the past 12 years.  He produces high-quality, well-researched and well-written staff newsletters.  He writes features on our work and sells them into our key magazines.  He manages print and design work and has even acted as a temporary communications officer, leading a major press event.  His writing is superb and he is a thorough researcher; this, together with his likeable and unflappable approach, makes him our first port of call when we use contractors."  - Celia Mead, Marketing Manager, National Trust Wessex Region

"Chris's professional approach has made working with him a pleasure.  We have also appreciated the successful outcomes his well-crafted contributions have generated for us." - Wendy Clifford, Tripod IT, Stroud
